| There are a lot of truly stunning screensavers available for the computers of today. From incredibly lifelike, natural scenes to fun and funky varieties, there seems to be a never-ending supply of new screensavers that go above and beyond their rudimentary predecessors.
But while most modern computer systems are easily able to handle the demands on memory and processing power made by these extraordinary applications, some with older systems may experience a decrease in performance when attempting to implement the latest high-powered designs. While they nevertheless do help to ensure longer lives for monitors (especially CRTs, which are generally used with older computer systems), complex screensavers may compromise a dated system's speed. Of course, not all fresh releases are problematic. Versions that incorporate three-dimensional graphics are not necessarily prone to causing issues, but those which feature a very high level of detail or rapid refresh rate are more likely to result in system slowdown. Those with aging computer equipment may wish to look for slightly older screensavers, most of which are still quite visually appealing. After all, choosing a balanced compromise between computer performance and aesthetic excellence is what using a screensaver is all about. |
